About the 2010 Competition...

The Apprentice Welding Competition is open to all Apprentices who are following a recognised national qualification. The competition is divided into a series of progressive craft challenges. At the first level, the Training Provider can design their competition to suit local requirements or use it to develop additional welding skills. As the competition progresses to Regional and National levels, the Apprentices are required to complete a number of set test pieces - full details of which can be found on the Training Providers tab.

The 2009 competition has three levels:

Level A
At this level, the Training Provider decides on the most appropriate welding processes and degree of difficulty to suit their own requirements. To assist a series of recommended test pieces are available, but these are not mandatory. The local competition must be completed 14 days prior to your Regional Final.

Level B
The Regional Finals are between a number of Training Providers. The Apprentices are required to complete a number of set test pieces.

Level C
The National Finals are held in each home nation (England, Scotland & Wales). The top Apprentices from the Regional Finals are invited to compete.

Dates for the Regional and National Finals can be found on the Competition Calendar.
